This course is designed to help learners develop their skills in drawing, painting, 3D studies and life drawing, using a variety of media and materials including monoprint, pastels, charcoal etc. The course content is structured to cover many aspects of art, craft and design. While preparing a high quality portfolio, learners will also have the opportunity to complete a QQI Level 5 Award in Art with the potential to gain a maximum of 390 CAO points for entry into third level institutions. By doing this course, learners are better prepared for degree programmes as it enables them to make informed decisions regarding college and course choices. It also gives them the confidence in their ability to succeed in a higher educational environment.
