The subject of mental health is particularly relevant in Ireland today in a wide variety of contexts including the workplace, education and the wider community. The field of abnormal psychology is fascinating and a very popular aspect of studying psychological science.

Participants on this course will receive an introduction to this field of knowledge and be equipped with an understanding of the core theories, treatments, educational and preventative strategies in work in mental health agencies.

This course will prepare learners for employment in mental health agencies, the community or study in higher education. Through the Health Promotion module, learners will be encouraged to critically evaluate and deliver creative, positive and practical interventions. The course will provide participants with insight into the broad range of factors, which are considered when examining human behaviour. Career guidance will support participants in choosing the right type of people-focused career pathway after the course.
