The BSc (Hons) Sports Coaching & Physical Education is designed for students who want to turn their passion for sport into a professional career – whether in coaching, sport development, or physical education (PE).

This future-focused degree prepares graduates for careers across sport and education while keeping progression options open. Combining applied sport science, coaching practice, educational theory, and real-world professional experience, the programme equips learners with the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence required to work across sport, education, and community settings.

Through academic study and structured placements, students gain hands-on experience in authentic coaching and physical education environments. Key areas of study include anatomy, exercise physiology, coaching principles, movement education, and leadership in sport and education.

The programme provides the academic foundation required to progress to the Professional Master of Education (PME) in Physical Education for those who aspire to become post-primary PE teachers.

Realists like to find practical solutions to problems using tools, technology and skilled work. Realists usually prefer to be active in their work environment, often do most of their work alone, and enjoy taking decisive action with a minimum amount of discussion and paperwork.
