The BSc (Hons) in Public Health & Health Promotion (formerly the BA (Hons) in Health Promotion) is a full-time, four year, honours degree course of study that can be chosen within the Health Sciences Common Entry Route. This four year, honours degree course (chosen via the Health Sciences Common Entry Route) is approved by the International Union for Health Promotion and Education, which allows graduates to register as Accredited Public Health and Health Promotion Practitioners with diverse career opportunities in health services, industry, communities, charitable and voluntary organisations, working to improve the health and wellbeing of populations and individuals. This course aims to give you practical skills to work with a wide range of population groups in a wide range of settings about a wide range of health related topics (e.g. mental health, physical activity, and the environment).
The degree will be delivered in a 1+3 model with students supported during Year 1 to make the transition to SETU Waterford to complete their studies.
Year 1
Students will undertake their studies in College of Further Education and Training Kilkenny (KCETB) Apply to Kilkenny
Years 2, 3 & 4
Students will undertake their studies in SETU (South East Technical University) Waterford Campus.
Launched in 2023, Tertiary Education Programmes are a new pathway to a bachelor’s degree. A joint further and higher education degree programme, tertiary education programmes begin in a local Education and Training Board Centre (College of Further Education and Training) and finish in a University. All tertiary education programmes lead to a NFQ level 7 or 8 degree.

The Social person's interests focus on interacting with the people in their environment. In all cases, the Social person enjoys the personal contact with other people in preference to the impersonal dealings with things, data and ideas found in other groups.
Many will seek out positions where there is direct contact with the public in some advisory role, whether a receptionist or a counsellor. Social people are motivated by an interest in different types of people and like diversity in their work environments. Many are drawn towards careers in the caring professions and social welfare area, whilst others prefer teaching and other 'informing' roles.
