Investigative

The Investigative person will usually find a particular area of science to be of interest. They are inclined toward intellectual and analytical activities and enjoy observation and theory. They may prefer thought to action, and enjoy the challenge of solving problems with sophiscticated technology. These types prefer mentally stimulating environments and often pay close attention to developments in their chosen field.

Upon completion of this programme, the graduate will be in a position to:

• Apply their knowledge, skills and competence to start an IT career by securing employment in a range of entry-level and junior manager positions such as, but not limited to: database administrator, IT consultant, junior IT project manager, network engineer/administrator, programmer/software developer, technical support specialist, technical writer and web developer, web administrator, software testing and quality assurance roles.
• Leverage their knowledge, skills and competencies to make informed decisions on, and successfully embark upon and compete in employment directions such as contract / freelance / consulting, open source project work, or traditional self-employment, as are increasingly common, particularly in IT project management, IT consulting, programming, technical support, web development and related fields.
