This intensive course provides you with the creative ability to visually communicate your design ideas and the technical skills to produce complete costumes, hair and make-up for performers.
Areas of general study include research, design development, drawing and illustration, pattern drafting and costume construction for the realisation of 2D designs into 3D. You will also learn practical skills for hair/wig and make-up design and application.
The Costume Design and Make-Up course at Inchicore College offers a unique opportunity to study in a specialised area that offers many exciting career prospects in a creative industry of film, television and theatre.

Costume design, illustration and drawing
Period and contemporary pattern drafting
Period and contemporary costume construction
Period corset construction
Millinery
Metal work
Media and materials exploration
Mask making
Make-up design and application including prosthetics
Wig/hair design and maintenance
Work experience is in collaboration with the Performance department and the Technical Theatre department on designing shows for public performance.
