Students must have completed QQI Level 5 Sports, Recreation & Exercise 5M5146 award or equivalent to apply to this course.

This course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to further develop the range of skills completed at level 5 for a career in the fitness and leisure industry as well as providing learners with the expertise to work on a one-to-one basis as an advanced Personal Trainer OR Sports Massage Therapist.

The course covers a range of practical application with skill-based learning and the theory at the core of the outcomes. Learn the technical know-how, improve your own fitness, and learn to instruct others in a safe way. Practical work is carried out in a gym environment. Students will also have the opportunity to gain a swim teacher qualification.

    WORK PLACEMENT/EXPERIENCE:
    Students will be required to undertake 60 of work experience in a gym/fitness/health environment. The Campus will advise students in identifying suitable placements.
