The aim of this course is to equip graduates with the knowledge, skill and capabilities to carry out key poultry husbandry activities and manage a poultry enterprise.
The Level 5 Certificate in Agriculture is the Teagasc recommended education pathway for an operative. Students who have completed the Level 5 Certificate in Agriculture, or equivalent course, are eligible to apply for Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Agriculture courses.

Naturalist
Not surprisingly, some aspect of the natural sciences will run through the Naturalist's interests - from ecological awareness to nutrition and health. People with an interest in horticulture, land usage and farming (including fish) are Naturalists.
