This course is aimed at school leavers or mature persons looking for a platform to progress to a wide range of careers in Social Sciences, Humanities or the Arts. This course is specifically designed as a transition year to studying at third level and will provide students with the fundamental knowledge and skills required for success in broad based Arts/Social Science programmes. In essence studentsl get a real taste for what’s required at third level before committing to a degree programme.
Students will study the core areas of social science and arts such as European Studies, Political Studies, Psychology and Social Studies. These subjects are complimented by modules that assist in the development of students transferable skills such as Communications, Word Processing, Research and Study Skills.
