Course Summary
The degree of Bachelor in Divinity is a higher degree awarded on the basis of examination and thesis. Appropriately qualified candidates, accepted for the degree must complete an examination in eight papers and a thesis of 40,000 words within five years. Candidates study independently for the examination, but may obtain advice and a bibliography on each subject from the School of Religion. Is This Course For Me? The B.D. in Divinity is aimed at those with a degree in Theology, a Divinity Testimonium, or a Professional Diploma in Theology wishing to prepare to enter the ministry or a spiritual leadership role.

Entry Requirements
Hold a degree in any subject from Trinity College Dublin or other university approved by the University Council and a Divinity Testimonium or a Professional Diploma in Theology from Trinity College Dublin; OR
Hold a degree in any subject from Trinity College Dublin or other university approved by the University Council and pass a qualifying examination. Details of the qualifying examination may be obtained directly from the School of Religion.
