Taking a Postgraduate course - leading to Business course. Also, finding a suitable premesis to rent.

How did you go about getting your current job?
Setup on my own in 1992.
Describe a typical day?
From 9:00 to 5:00 I am involved in manufacturing, sending out orders, and dealing with customers in the shop. I do the accounts at home after hours.
What are the main tasks and responsibilities?
Management, Glazeing, Dispatching orders and doing the accounts.
What are the main challenges?
Meeting deadlines for orders.
What do you like most?
Having my own workshop in the Castle yard. Flexible hours, and selling what I make.
Is there anything that isn't great?
Chasing payments from customers.
What particular skills do you bring to your workplace?
Management, and an understanding of the marketplace in Giftware.
What subjects did you take in school and how have these influenced your career path?
Art, Physics, Accountancy along with the compulsary ones.
What is your education to date?
Leaving Cert, Diploma in Ceramic Design and a Post Grad Business Course.
What aspects of your education have proven most important for your job?
All of the above - especially the Diploma and Business course.
What have been the most rewarding events in your career so far?
Setting up "Made in Kilkenny" - a group of crafts people marketing themselves locally and nationally.
What personal qualities do you have that helps you in your career?
Hard working, not afraid to try new things.
What is your dream job?
Marketing giftware. Running a retail shop.
Does your job allow you to have a lifestyle you are happy with?
Yes!
What advice would you give to someone considering this job?
Perfect your skills while working for others. Know your market.
What are the three most important personal characteristics required for the job?
Flexability, Hardworking, ability to overcome issues and bounce back after disappointment.

Anything thats uplifting.

The Matrix
What is your pet hate at work?
Cold calling from salespeople.
What is your star sign?
Taurus.
Have you undertaken, or do you plan to undertake any further training as part of your job?
No plans in the short term.
What kinds of work experience would provide a good background for this position?
Any retail experience - you need to understand the marketplace.
