The Advance Centre is a HCI Pillar 3 funded project that offers courses on Digital Transform in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) for part-time professional learners and full-time graduate students. The Centre is a collaboration between UCD, ATU and TU Dublin.

The Ad Astra Academy is an initiative designed to recognise and nurture exceptional students in academia, sports and the performing arts. The UCD Ad Astra Academic programme is looking for students who have a proven record of academic excellence and a desire to continue to achieve at the highest level. Up to 15 scholarships are awarded to incoming students each year.

Opening Date:

Scholarship applications are accepted from 1st February 2024.

Closing Date:

Sunday, 18th August 2024 at 23:59. The closing date/time is strictly adhered to.

Interview Dates:

Interviews will take place after CAO offers. Any student shortlisted must be able to attend on the date given.

Notification:

Students shortlisted for interview will be notified after the first round of CAO offers via their UCD Connect email account.

The UCD Ad Astra Elite Sports programme supports students who are competing and succeeding at the highest sporting levels. Athletes in the Academy compete at international level or in the case of GAA, they compete at inter-county level. At any one time, there are 60 Elite Sports Scholars in the programme with an average intake of 15 each year.
The value of the scholarship for new scholars entering the programme in September is €3,000 which can be used to offset the cost of fees, accommodation, or used as a bursary.

The UCD Sport Scholarship programme is independent of the Ad Astra Elite Athlete Programme with the exception of the unsuccessful applications for Ad Astra being transferred to the UCD Sport Scholarship applications upon the consent of such applicants. Furthermore, because a student is in receipt of an Ad Astra Elite Athlete scholarship in a particular sport, such an award has no bearing on the inclusion of that sport in the UCD Sport Scholarship list of sports.

Awarded to a student registered to the MA in Irish History

Eligible candidates that have applied for and undertake any of the four masters’ programmes listed below in UCD Sutherland School of Law, for either one year on a full-time basis or part-time over two years, are eligible for the scholarship: • LLM (Master of Laws) • MCL (Masters in Common Law) • MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice • MSc in International Law and Business

UCD recognises the calibre of its incoming high-achieving students with the award of UCD Entrance Scholar. Entrance Scholar awards are presented to first year students who achieve 560 points or more in their Leaving Certificate (or equivalent second level examination) in recognition of their academic accomplishment to date. No application is required and recipients are automatically informed. Benefits - Recipients are presented with a recognition certificate at a ceremony in November each year and their achievements are recorded on their academic transcript.

The Google Insight Scholarship programme is the largest scholarship programme of its kind in Ireland. With a funding package of 1.5 million euro, more than 60 undergraduate students will receive scholarship support between 2024-2029.

The scholarship will support 3rd level students from underrepresented and socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds and communities, with a particular focus placed on students studying courses related to artificial intelligence (AI) and digital safety.

The fields of AI and digital safety are rapidly evolving, and there is a growing need for scholarships to support students from underserved and socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds and communities. The programme aims to assist underrepresented students in completing their undergraduate degree, through scholarship funding and wrap-around support.

To qualify for the scholarship programme applicants must be from an under-represented socioeconomically disadvantaged background. Applicants will need to be registered with their university access office. Applicants will need to fall under one or more of the following categories, including but not limited to:​

HEAR Students​
DARE Students​
Members of the Traveller community​ and members of the Roma community
Lone Parents​ and Care leavers
Women in STEM

Successful applicants will be awarded €5,000 per year, up to a maximum duration of 5 years. Students must be registered with University College Dublin Access Office, and also registered to one of the eligible courses.

Intel’s success in Ireland has been built on the quality of highly skilled and educated people available in the country. Through the ‘Women in Technology’ scholarship program, Intel hopes to increase awareness and encourage a new generation of high-achieving women to take up the challenge of a career in science and technology. We are directing this program through our partner MoU universities, with a focused approach targeting female students committed to disciplines with proven relevance to our business. Each university will advertise this program separately from September to October each year.

Teach na Gaeilge UCD, first established in 2000, offers students a unique experience. Students from various subject areas have the opportunity to live and work together as Gaeilge, while further developing their individual talents through a range of social and cultural activities. Gaeltacht UCD offers scholarships to 24 students who are fluent Irish speakers and who have the desire and the ability to initiate projects which promote the use of the language.
