Sixty Quercus Entrance Scholarships of up to €1,000 each, tenable in any College of the University, are offered for competition on the basis of results in the Irish Leaving Certificate Examination or equivalent. The Scholarships are tenable only in University College Cork, for the First Year of a full-time primary degree programme at University College Cork in the session following the Leaving Certificate Examination on which the award is based.

The Quercus Entrance Scholarships will be awarded to First Year undergraduate students, who are admitted via CAO onto a full-time Level 8 primary degree programme offered by the university. The recipients will be selected on the basis of being among the top 15 students in their College with respect to Leaving Certificate Examination (LCE) Points achievement or EU equivalent.

Dr Elmer Morrissey graduated from UCC with a BE in 2002 and PhD in 2006. The Trustees of the Dr Elmer Morrissey Memorial Scholarship, consisting of classmates, colleagues and friends of the late Dr Morrissey, have raised a fund for the provision of an annual scholarship to be known as "The Dr Elmer Morrissey Memorial Scholarship", to recognise outstanding Engineering students who have excelled academically, in addition to making a positive contribution to student life. The value of the prize is c. €1,500, but this will vary with the income from the fund.

The friends and family of the late Eoin Murray have established a fund to support the development of creative writing within UCC. Eoin was a poet and a musician, who valued creativity, authenticity and connection with nature and humanity, and he lived his life according to those values. With this scholarship, in association with the School of English, UCC, we hope to keep his spirit alive and to support others like him in their creative endeavours.
