INow in its 17th year,  SETU in Carlow's (formerly IT Carlow) academic scholarship initiative celebrates first year students who have attained the highest entry points for their chosen programme of study at the institute.

The Google Insight Scholarship programme is the largest scholarship programme of its kind in Ireland. With a funding package of 1.5 million euro, more than 60 undergraduate students will receive scholarship support between 2024-2029.

The scholarship will support 3rd level students from underrepresented and socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds and communities, with a particular focus placed on students studying courses related to artificial intelligence (AI) and digital safety.

The fields of AI and digital safety are rapidly evolving, and there is a growing need for scholarships to support students from underserved and socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds and communities. The programme aims to assist underrepresented students in completing their undergraduate degree, through scholarship funding and wrap-around support.

To qualify for the scholarship programme applicants must be from an under-represented socioeconomically disadvantaged background. Applicants will need to be registered with their university access office. Applicants will need to fall under one or more of the following categories, including but not limited to:​

HEAR Students​
DARE Students​
Members of the Traveller community​ and members of the Roma community
Lone Parents​ and Care leavers
Women in STEM

Successful applicants will be awarded €5,000 per year, up to a maximum duration of 5 years. Students must be registered with their SETU Carlow Access Office, and also registered to one of the eligible courses.

Through the ‘Women in Technology’ scholarship program, Intel hopes to increase awareness and encourage a new generation of high-achieving women to take up the challenge of a career in science and technology. We are directing this program through our partner MoU universities, with a focused approach targeting female students committed to disciplines with proven relevance to our business. Each university will advertise this program separately from September to October each year.

SETU Carlow awards gold & elite sports scholarships to students who have distinguished themselves, both academically and through their exceptional sporting ability. We also offer the SETU Engagement and Enhancement Entry Scheme, whereby, CAO applicants may apply under a number of categories including sports, active citizenship, innovation and entrepreneurship, and creative arts. Applications will be assessed with successful applicants assigned additional CAO points.

SETU's Rising Stars entry scheme offers our CAO applicants who demonstrate exceptional achievements and participation in sports, active citizenship, creative arts or innovation & entrepreneurship an opportunity to apply for additional CAO points.

The sports scholarship scheme at SETU in Carlow offers a support package and/or offers bursaries to students of exceptional sporting ability. It is open to elite Athletes, participating at International, National, Inter-Provincial, Inter-County, Senior Club level and who have applied for their chosen course at SETU in Carlow.

The SVP Education and Training Bursary Fund has been established to support students of all ages who may  financially struggle to access or stay in third level education and training programmes.

The scholarship aims to enable students from socio-economically disadvantaged and underrepresented backgrounds to access higher education.

Uversity’s Scholarships are for adult learners who wish to complete a Bachelor’s (Ordinary or Higher) Degree, for the first time, that will help transform their lives and the lives of those around them. Applications for forthcoming Academic Year open in February.
