TUS Midlands (formerly AIT) has operated a sports scholarship scheme since 1996 for students who have reached, or have the potential to reach, a very high standard of performance in their chosen sport.

- A Gold Scholarship is worth up to the value of €4,000.

- An Academy level scholarship is worth up to the value of €2500.

GMIT supports the development of talented athletes and recognises the increasing need for them to successfully balance academic and sporting commitments. GMIT facilitates this vision through the Sports Scholarship Programme.

ITT offer an Elite Performance Scholarship in recognition of the exceptional commitment and achievement exhibited by students in their pursuit of both their sporting and academic goals.

The IT Sligo Sport Scholarship Programme gives talented athletes the supports needed to excel in their chosen sport. Each year up to 60 Sports Scholarships are awarded. Alongside financial support, our Sport Scholars have access to top class sporting facilities, sports science supports and academic supports. This ensures our Student Athletes can achieve their Sporting goals whilst maintaining academic excellence.

The DCU Sports Scholarship programme offers a wide range of support services for talented athletes as part of a balanced approach to training, performance and academic excellence. The programme is athlete led and grades support depending on the athlete's achievement, potential and need, with the objective of remaining flexible to support the diverse needs of athletes.

The scholarship initiative is an investment in student potential, which endeavors to tailor performance based components with financial support so students can maintain a dual focus on academic and sporting progression. Sports scholarships are reserved for full-time registered students who have reached or have the potential to reach a very high level of performance competing at International, National, Inter-provincial or Inter-county level. Applications for the NCI Sport Scholarship are currently closed and will open for prospective students in February.

• Our scholarships are open to all sports disciplines, with previous scholarships awarded to the following sports - Rugby, Basketball, Soccer, Cricket, Badminton, Tennis, Athletics and Swimming
  Applicants must be active within their chosen sport and competing at club level or above.
• We will consider applicants who have previously competed at a high standard and are still involved in their sport at a coaching or at a grassroots level.
• Applicants should be available to compete for the college within their chosen sport throughout the academic term.
• Successful applicants must also satisfy the entry requirements of their chosen programme.
• Applicants are welcomed to apply for programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduates level.
• Experience in leadership is required and previous coaching experience is desirable.

The Trinity Sport Scholarships are in place to support talented student athletes in the pursuit of their sporting and academic goals. The programme enables students to balance their academic and sporting commitments through a structured network of support services and expertise.

Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) are excited to announce that their applications for the DkIT Sports Scholarship programme are now open. The launch event for this scholarship programme was held recently with sponsors Dundalk Credit Union and ControlSoft in attendance alongside sporting partners including Dundalk FC, Dundalk Golf Club, Louth GAA, Louth LGFA, Drogheda Wolves, and Swords Basketball.

The DkIT Sports Scholarship Programme embodies a commitment to fostering athletic excellence and academic achievement among students. With the generous support of Dundalk Credit Union, ControlSoft and collaborative partnerships with leading sporting organisations, DkIT aims to provide a platform for talented athletes to pursue their passion while pursuing higher education.

As part of the programme, selected scholars will receive financial assistance, specialised sport science support, mentorship, and access to top-class facilities. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to represent DkIT in various intercollegiate competitions and showcase their skills on a national and international stage.

The sports scholarship scheme at SETU in Carlow offers a support package and/or offers bursaries to students of exceptional sporting ability. It is open to elite Athletes, participating at International, National, Inter-Provincial, Inter-County, Senior Club level and who have applied for their chosen course at SETU in Carlow.

The UL Sports Scholarships are designed to support top athletes in pursuing and excelling in their sport while also undertaking academic study at the University of Limerick.

Reserved for athletes who have demonstrated outstanding sporting ability and have a proven track record of success at the highest level. These athletes will have received individual recognition for performances on the national or international stage. These athletes will receive academic fee support, €2,000 bursary and individual support services.

Sport Scholarships are given to those students who are excelling in their sport and participating at the highest level they can compete at. Those awarded this scholarship will receive a financial bursary and full support services for the year.

TUS Silver Sports Scholarship Silver Sports Scholarships cater for developing athletes, who are aiming to reach the highest level in their chosen sport. Springboard+ is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF programme for employability, inclusion and learning 2014-2020. Springboard+ in 2021 continues to have a dual focus of upskilling and reskilling people who remain out of the workforce and on upskilling those in employment. Springboard+ offers part-time and intensive conversion courses in higher education from certificate, to degree, to postgraduate level. See www.springboardcourses.ie for full details. Human Capital Initiative Pillar 1 is funded by the National Training Fund. A 10% course fee contribution (€600) for graduate conversion courses is applicable for employed participants and recent graduates.

The SSE Renewables Scholarship Fund offers students living in Co.Derry/Londonderry, Co.Tyrone, Co.Fermanagh and Co.Donegal an opportunity to apply for 50% funding towards the cost of third level fees for a maximum of 3 years. The Scholarship provides financial support for students on both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Scholarships are available to students commencing first year studies for a range of courses at Ulster University.

The Stephen Walsh Memorial Scholarship is an additional scholarship introduced for 2023/2024 and is specifically available for students accepting a course in the School of Engineering in Galway.

The Stephens Green Trust Family Matters grant programme which supports families affected by convictions and imprisonment is open again for applications from groups working across the island.

There are two strands:
One for once-off grants up to €7,000/£6,000

The second for once-off or multiannual grants up to €25,000/£21,500.

The Stuart Mangan scholarship has been established to honour the life and memory of this young athlete by making it possible for those who suffered paralysis while competing in sport to participate in educational programmes at the University of Limerick for periods of up to four years.
The scholarship will provide funding grants of up to €25,000 per annum to address the obstacles which may be preventing a paralysed sportsperson from fulfilling their educational potential.

The Student Assistance Fund provides financial support to full or part-time students who are experiencing financial difficulties while attending college. Students can apply for the Student Assistance Fund to help with either temporary or ongoing financial difficulties. The Student Assistance Fund is designed to provide a source of financial support in addition to a SUSI grant.

The Student Assistance Fund provides financial support to students who are in significant financial difficulty and whose participation in college would be at risk without such support.

Scholarships are available for eligible students to ease financial pressures, unlock life-changing travel opportunities, enhance their academic journey, or help them achieve their sporting ambitions.

The Childcare Subsidy Fund is overseen and administered by your Students’ Union. Students who are in full-time education and who have children in registered childcare can avail of the fund. For more details please consult the IADTSU website.

The Study Abroad Scholarship is open to all international students who have previously studied at Ulster University as an exchange or study abroad student, and who wish to continue their studies on one of our Masters programmes.

SUSI (Student Universal Support Ireland) is Ireland’s single national awarding authority for all higher and further education grants. SUSI offers funding to eligible students in approved full-time third-level education in Ireland and also, in some cases, funding for students studying outside of Ireland. Support is available to all types of students, from school leavers to mature students returning to education.

As part of this initiative, UCC is offering up to 5 Sustaining Excellence Scholarships within the College of SEFS The 5 Scholarships are available to PhD students registered in the Employment-based PhD programme in the College of SEFS Scholarships will fund tuition fees plus €5,000 per annum for associated research, for the duration of each PhD.
