This one year course is designed and is tailor-made to students who wish to progress in the animal area into a working life with animals. This course caters for experience with pet and farm animals. The farm animal aspect of the course is taught in the college but also on-site on a working farm in Dundrum.  Students also complete a one-week placement at an agricultural college in Tipperary to gain large animal farm experience. This is to ensure that students leave with practical hands-on experience with these species and will have the versatility to gain employment in either equine or farm animal businesses. Students gain a much greater understanding of the small animal industry in Ireland, including dog behaviour and advanced grooming. This means that students are ready for employment or equipped to set up their own animal enterprise.

The aim of the course is to provide students with the opportunity to acquire the skill and knowledge to competently work independently in a fine art & design context or to progress to higher education and training.

This one-year QQI level 6 course in English & Business is suitable for students who have successfully completed the English & IT course at QQI level 5 or its equivalent. The aim of this course is to bring students from intermediate level English (B1) to upper-intermediate (B2).

All students who are accepted onto our ESOL level 6 course will study English intensively every week.  Students on this course will also study Communications and Personal Professional Development which are basically additional English language modules where you will learn how to express yourself well in writing and speaking. You will also learn advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

This course will enable the learner to develop key skills in accounting, marketing, human resources and management. Modules in Enterprise and Team leadership give the student the skills and knowledge required to work as an effective leader and member of a team, focusing on leadership, management, teamwork and communication skills.

This course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and the skills to work in a variety of areas within the Animal Health Care sector, or to progress to Higher Education through the Higher Education Links Scheme. Learners will study core areas of Animal Health Care and are enabled to put theory into practice through experiential learning. Regular field trips and the handling of a wide variety of animals are key features of this course.

This Advanced Certificate in Animal Science course is the ideal progression for those who have completed a QQI level 5 in Animal Care or who have had previous experience of working in the Animal Care sector. This course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and the skills to work in a variety of areas within the Animal Health Care sector. Learners will study core areas of Animal Health Care enabling them to work with confidence in a variety of Animal Care settings. This is a full-time one-year course and runs from September to May.

The Advanced Certificate in Dance Performance is a one-year dance programme  leading to the level 6 QQI award 6M20595 in dance.  This course aims to develop students’ choreographic and technical dance skills in preparation for a career in the profession in Ireland and internationally.

This is year 2 of the Advanced Certificate in Early Learning and Care (Level 6). Learners can progress to this course if they have achieved the Early Learning and Care Level 5 award (Year 1) or if they have gone through an RPL process. This programme aims to meet the requirements of childcare supervisors and managers in relation to current childcare legislation and child protection legislation, as well as developing the core competencies required to work at managerial level.
