This one-year Higher National Certificate prepares students to work alongside architects and engineers by teaching construction fundamentals like CAD, Surveying, and Design. The program also includes practical study trips to further investigate professional architectural technology in the field.

Students gain hands-on experience with CAD technology, using software like Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit to create detailed drawings, 3D models, and simulations.

Additionally, students have the opportunity to gain industry professional accreditation through exams such as Autodesk AutoCAD and Adobe Professional Exams.

This course meets the needs of students who wish to develop a portfolio of valuable skills, for example: Architectural Drawing, CAD2D and 3D, Architectural Model Making and Design. These skills will equip students to find employment in the architectural, engineering and design sectors and/or also to progress to third level colleges. Students achieve a level of competence and confidence in their skills in order to maximise their abilities and potential for the future.

This fully funded Traineeship provides a variety of modules which relate to the design/ drawing/CAD/IT skills required within the construction sector. The BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology and Management course is based on a modular structure across two semesters and is available as a four year sandwich course (although students with the necessary industrial experience may be exempted from placement).

The course is also available in a part-time mode of study which involves students taking the course over five years (there is no placement year), and attending and completing all modules alongside the full-time students. The course leads to the degree of Bachelor of Science with Honors in Architectural Technology and Management.

The DPP (Diploma in Professional Practice) is awarded on successful completion of an approved industrial placement year.

This course involves practical studio and location work. It enables students to develop drawing and observational skills and to explore creativity and personal expression through a broad range of creative processes including Sculpture, Mixed Media, Printmaking, Painting and Drawing. All projects are broad enough to allow students to develop a portfolio suitable to their particular interests Fine Art, Design, Animation etc. Visits to various art gallerys throughout Ireland takes place during the college term to inform, develop and stimulate the students knowledge of the arts. Work experience takes place throughout the year. It involves two weeks of work placement, artists talks and weekly tutorials.

This program at LCFE's Mulgrave Street Campus is a one-year, full-time NFQ Level 6 course tailored for learners with prior experience who wish to elevate their practical, technical, and creative skills.
