This course provides a combination of practical and theoretical tuition in all aspects of sound engineering and music production and is delivered by staff who are working producers, musicians and DJs.There are 3 streams: this one is especially suited for students who want to focus on music production or sound engineering. This course features a high level of training in a wide range of industry-standard music production software including Pro Tools, Ableton Live and Adobe Audition. You will also gain practical experience setting up and running sound for live performances, radio and podcast production and location recording.

This one-year course provides learners with an introduction to professional music recording and production techniques using industry standard software including Apple Logic Pro, Avid Pro Tools and Ableton Live. Throughout the program learners complete several projects and skills demos covering topics such as Studio Hardware, Studio Recording, Mixing & Effects, Sampling & Synthesis and Live Sound Mixing Consoles. In addition, learners will also be introduced to Sound Design for movies and Video Editing using Apple Final Cut Pro. Course facilities include: Apple Computer Lab with 25 iMacs and Akai Midi controller keyboards.

You will develop practical skills in music production, audio editing, multimedia sound and live sound in our professional facilities. This is matched with specialist lessons in MIDI sequencing, location recording and music technology to help you explore your creative musical potential.

Practical projects will also enable you to learn about the world of live sound, events management and the music industry. This course features a high level of training in a wide range of industry standard music production software including Logic Pro® and Pro Tools®.

Students will work in a fully equipped digital studio and be involved in the production of live performance recording.It aims for students to gain a broad appreciation of the technology,every year more hardware and software becomes available to create music and teach students about music. It’s a hands-on, skills-based course which equips students with a fundamental knowledge of the common applications of music technology.

This is a full-time course for students interested in a career in music/ sound engineering/ music promotion and journalism. The course examines the music industry with a particular emphasis on visual and sound technologies and music production as well as audio production for film and the games industry. Students have access to an on-campus sound recording studio and radio production facility as part of their training programme.

This course allows students to develop a broad range of knowledge and skills in audio and music technology, sound engineering and production and musicianship. Students will gain hands-on experience in studio work (audio tracking, audio mixing), composition with technology and radio production in our high-spec studios and multimedia editing suites. A series of events throughout the academic year will allow students to gain experience in studio production, live sound, composition with technology, radio programme production and musicianship whilst developing the necessary skills required to navigate the technical music and sound industry. As part of the course, students will be developing competence in industry software such as AVID Pro Tools, Reason, Adobe Audition, Sibelius, Ableton and other software.

This program is designed for aspiring sound engineers, music producers, and promotion specialists seeking a comprehensive foundation in the digital music industry. Combining theoretical knowledge with rigorous practical training, students master the technical nuances of sound engineering while gaining vital industry insights from a faculty of professional engineers and practitioners. A core element of the learning experience is the direct collaboration with Music Performance students to produce annual live events, allowing learners to apply their skills in high-pressure, real-world environments.

This 1 year, full-time course is suitable for learners interested in a career in radio, music, sound engineering, music promotion and or professional DJ’ing. Learners are given the opportunity to pursue a career in DJ’ing, radio production and sound engineering. The course aims to provide the learner with the skills to develop their own natural abilities in music production performance and radio broadcasting.

This course provides students with solid background knowledge and skills for progression to third level and thrive in an Arts or Media Degree. This course has an excellent record of graduate progression to UCD, IADT and NUI Maynooth. Students will learn about the cultural richness of Europe, and will develop strong research, journalistic writing and analytical skills.

The Archaeology, Folklore & Heritage Studies course is particularly suited to school leavers and adults with an interest in cultural and heritage studies who wish to return to education. Students will be introduced to key areas of Irish Archaeology, Folklore, Local History and Heritage studies, enabling them to pursue employment opportunities in the tourist industry. There will be several field trips to places of archaeological, historical, and cultural interest including museums, ancient sites and areas of archaeological interest.

The Cultural and Heritage Studies programme offers students a wonderful blend of exciting subjects along with an excellent range of organised cultural trips.

Throughout the year, students will participate in a broad range of interesting projects, field trips, cultural visits and guided tours e.g. Dublin Castle, National Museum, Kilmainham Gaol, Newgrange, Trinity College, National Library of Ireland, National Museum, Glasnevin Cemetery, etc. Course work will consist of a combination of onsite & online learning.

Cultural and Heritage Studies programme at the National Print Museum is a City of Dublin ETB funded Local Training Initiative. Learners undertake a 50-week course as well as becoming tour guides at the Museum, and will gain a QQI Level 5 Common Award in Cultural and Heritage Studies.
