The Occupational Therapy Studies course will focus on developing the students understand­ing of impaired mobility and its impact on human occupational performance and ability, and of the role of occupational therapy in current healthcare services. Students will obtain work experience in general hospitals, homes for the elderly, disability schools/homes, rehabilitation centres and respite care centres for a two-week period. The practical aspect of the course will give students a good understanding of hos­pital life and the qualities and characteristics required for a successful career as an oc­cupational therapist. Students will develop an awareness of how to assist the OT in the implementation of therapeutic programmes.

This course in Emergency Care Studies leads to a Level 5 award in Health Service Skills with additional certification in Emergency First Responder, accredited by The Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC). Students will train for Emergency First Responder incorporating Cardiac First Responder certification which is also PHECC accredited.

This Healthcare Support course equips the student with the practical knowledge and skills required to support and assist people in their daily lives. Throughout the Healthcare Support course, students are assessed using skills demonstrations, oral presentations, written assessments and roleplay scenarios

This course prepares students for a career as an Occupational Therapy (OT) Assistant, exploring how mobility impairments affect daily performance. Through a two-week placement in settings like rehab centers or elderly care, learners gain hands-on experience in the OT process—from assessment to treatment. Graduates develop the practical skills needed to support therapists in implementing rehabilitation programs and enhancing client self-care.

On this course, you will develop foundational skills and knowledge in subjects related to physiotherapy, both theoretical and practical. This will prepare you for progression to Higher Level study.

Students who undertake this one-year course in Pre-Physiotherapy studies will gain an understanding of the principles and practices of rehabilitation and an insight into how to assess and treat clients whose movement is restricted by illness, injury, disability or age. Students will gain the skills needed by the HSE to work in the healthcare sector, which will help them to understand therapy programmes and support clients in restoring or improving their mobility.

Practical classes will be timetabled on-site at Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena and the National gymnastics Training Centre at Sports Campus Ireland Campus.

The Healthcare Support Traineeship at Cavan and Monaghan ETB (CMETB) is a fully funded, practical training program designed to equip learners with the vital skills, knowledge, and competencies required to work as professional Healthcare Workers. Co-funded by the Irish Government and the European Union, this course blends classroom theory with an extensive, year-long work experience component that allows students to apply their knowledge directly in real-world settings while showcasing their potential to prospective employers. To support learners, the traineeship provides additional financial benefits, including Training, Meal, Travel, or Accommodation allowances, alongside access to the National Childcare Scheme.

Speech and Language Therapists support and care for people of all ages with speech, language, communication and swallowing difficulties. Working with other professionals in multidisciplinary teams, the therapist works closely with patients and their families to establish a therapeutic programme to help each patient communicate as effectively as possible as part of their recovery journey.

The Speech and Language Therapy Assistant course will focus on developing the students understand­ing of a variety of communication and swallowing disorders and there impact on every aspect of a person’s life. Students can obtain work experience in a variety of areas, from schools to hospitals and other clinical settings for a two-week block. The practical aspects of the course will give students a good understanding of clinical­ life, and the qualities and characteristics required for a successful career as a Speech and Language Therapist.

This one-year course will prepare participants for entrance into Law and Arts programmes in Irish universities and colleges. As well as preparing students to work in a legal environment both in Ireland and abroad. By progressing to a Law degree, and then on to a post graduate qualification, students can access the many opportunities available to those with a legal qualification. This course lays the foundation for those who know Law is their first choice and supports those who are planning to study Law at degree level. Graduates of this course have successfully qualified as solicitors.

This one year Law and Criminology course provides students with an introduction to the Irish legal system and general law subjects, with a clear focus on criminology. It is suited to students who wish to progress to a degree in law at third level specifically Criminal Law. This course is designed to help students develop the essential skills and techniques which form the basis for a career in business, public service or the legal industry. It will also enable learners to obtain a general understanding of legal principles and allow them to appreciate the role of the law in their personal and vocational lives. The course is designed to provide the participants with an introduction to Law and is the ideal starting point for anyone considering progressing to third level to study for a law degree or further study in the legal profession.

The Legal Studies and Criminology course will be of interest to those who would like to focus on the study of criminal law and criminology and progress to study criminology at degree level in university.

Criminology includes the study of causes of crime, deviance, combatting crime, the prison service, policing, the probation service and theories of criminology. The course also covers the study of business law and legal practice.The course also allows students to progress to the traditional law degree routes at university as well.

This one-year Pre-University Law course will provide the ideal starting point for learners who are keen to progress to third level education to study for a law degree or any degree including a law subject.

This pre-university course equips students with a foundational knowledge of key legal concepts alongside the administrative skills required for high-demand legal secretarial and administration roles. The curriculum covers the origin of Irish laws, the impact of EU law, the structure of the Irish legal system, and essential components of both contract law and the law of negligence. Featuring integrated practical work experience, the program provides clear pathways either directly into professional legal employment or toward higher education degrees in law and legal studies.

This course is designed for the learner to explore many aspects of the law and related subject areas that may interest them in future programmes or employment.  This course is often used by students as a preparatory course for progression to third level.

This programme provides a foundation for those intending to pursue a career with An Garda Síochana, the Defence Forces or Security Organisations by focusing on a number of key areas important to the sector.  Further studies in the area of Criminology, law and word processing help the learner develop skills and techniques for a career in business and commerce.

This programme will introduce to you to a wide range of topics in the legal and criminal justice system in Ireland and provide you with a foundation to progress onto further education. You will learn about the Irish legal system, criminal and business law, as well as developing conflict resolution and communication skills.
