This course will guide you through the journey of a child’s development into adulthood, highlighting the physical and emotional challenges posed by illness and accidents along the way.

Because children often struggle to express the intensity or nature of their pain, you’ll develop strong communication skills to understand their behaviour and respond appropriately. You’ll also learn how to effectively engage with families, including parents and carers, to provide holistic support.

This course is an introduction to Nursing and will benefit anyone wishing to enter the Healthcare profession using a QQI qualification. It is recognised nationally by Universities and Institutes of Technology in Ireland and in the UK. Essential skills in nursing care are taught by our qualified staff in our fully equipped ward.

Students must complete work experience in a Nursing/Care facility. Prior to engaging in practical Work Experience, students will complete both People Moving & Handling and PHECC First Aid Responder (FAR) Courses.

The course provides students with a solid foundation in nursing theory and practice and allows students to assess their suitability for a career in nursing. Students achieving the required grades during this course can apply to gain entry to nursing degree courses.

You will be introduced to supporting people regain independence in all areas of their lives, through the use of aids and equipment. You will acquire the skills and competencies necessary to assist the Occupational Therapist. Training in therapeutic splinting is provided.

This one-year full time NFQ course is an introduction to those who wish to progress on to paramedics, either in the Fire or Ambulance Services. This course equips the learner with the vocational skills and knowledge in areas relevant to these careers. This course will improve the chances of recruitment in either the Fire, Ambulance Service, Nursing or Healthcare. Learners will gain essential knowledge and skills in areas relevant to these careers. This is a one year specialist course training students to work as Special Needs Assistants (SNAs) in Pre school, Primary and Secondary School Classrooms. Primary and Secondary Schools as well as specialist schools employ Special Needs Assistants to work in a variety of educational settings.

Applicants should have a love of children and gain pleasure in helping others. If you have a vocation to assist pre school,primary or secondary students and enjoy school life, this course is very fulfilling. You should be mature, hardworking and organised. You will be responsible for securing an appropriate off site work placement.
