This course is aimed at those interested in working in a community pharmacy or for those wishing to progress to our two year (part-time) Pharmacy Technician Course.

The course will increase medicinal counter assistants product knowledge and help to develop the skills needed to work in a pharmacy.

The scope of Social Studies as an area of study is vast. This is a one year full-time course leading to a QQI level 5 award. The aim of this programme is to enable the learner to develop the knowledge, skills and competence to work under supervision in a range of community health service settings or to progress to further and/or higher education and training.

This innovative one-year course is designed to prepare school leavers, adult learners returning to the workforce, and international students for rewarding administrative and support careers within the Irish healthcare sector. Students will acquire knowledge of health and social care theories and best practice. Students will also acquire practical experience on work placement. This could include a variety of settings such as resource centres, hostels for homeless, addiction services and youth projects.

Ultimately, the program equips graduates with the analytical skills and verified knowledge necessary to secure employment or pursue further studies in social care, community services, and the justice sector.

This foundation course aims to give participants an introduction to the core theories and methodologies of psychology and prepare them for further study at third level. This  course also lays the foundation for a wide variety of ‘people–focused’ careers in social research, environmental psychology and human resource management. It aims to study how a person thinks, feels and acts in any social situation. The main emphasis is on the individual and how they can affect and be affected by, social contact with other parties.

This course is designed to equip learners with relevant knowledge, skills and experience to work as a pharmacy counter assistant.

This course will focus on a range of business and health related subjects relevant to employment as a pharmacy counter assistant. Work Experience is within a retail pharmacy.

Applicants who would like to blend an interest in retail with science and who have an interest in health in the community will find this course a useful introduction to the world of pharmacy.

This course prepares students for work in Pharmacies, health stores etc. It also offers a platform to go on to study Pharmacy Technician courses at Third level.

This Special Needs Assistant programme and develop the core skills and competencies to support people with a range of additional needs in an inclusive and equitable manner. Graduates from this programme work in a range of settings, such as primary and post-primary education and well-case community and care homes. The purpose of this award is to develop the core skills and competencies needed to support people with a range of additional needs in an inclusive and equitable manner.

This course prepares learners for immediate employment as pharmacy counter assistants while providing a solid foundation for future pharmacy technician qualifications. Students master essential retail skills, including dispensing over-the-counter medications, advising on medical aids, and product demonstrations. 

If your ambition is a career in the uniformed services, then Emergency Services course is for you. You can prepare for careers in a challenging but highly rewarding environments. You’ll develop essential skills of physical fitness, leadership and teamwork.

This course can be the foundation to progress to a rewarding career in the Ambulance Service, The Fire Service, The Defence Forces/Army, Prison Service or An Garda Síochána.

This one year course Emergency Care Services course provides learners with the foundation knowledge and skills required to pursue a career in the emergency services. The course is designed to introduce you to the challenges and opportunities of working in emergency frontline public services. Careers such as Paramedic, Emergency Medical Technician, Intermediate Care Operative, Emergency Call Operative and Fire Services will be introduced to you and help you prepare for further study in this area. This is a full-time one-year course and runs from September to May.

This full-time course offering comprehensive training for participants interested in working in the Retail Pharmacy Sector. Students will gain a knowledge of science based subjects, IT skills, ‘Over the Counter Medicines’ and customer service experience.

This one-year course is designed for those who have an interest in psychology and aims to give participants an introduction to the core theories and methodologies of psychology and prepare them for further study at third level.  On completion of the course, students will also have developed skills that are useful to careers in human resources, marketing, and public relations. This programme is ideal for both school leavers and experienced mature persons seeking a formal education.

This programme develops skills, knowledge and understanding of the special needs assistant role. The programme will promote good practice among those working with people with additional needs, special needs children in the primary or secondary classroom situation or as a community care assistant with individuals with special needs.

This one-year course will equip learners with the relevant knowledge and experience to work as a pharmacy counter assistant or pursue a pharmacy technician qualification in the future. From dispensing over-the-counter medications, helping clients choose medical aids and appliances to demonstrating and selling products, this course covers the most relevant skills. This course will also focus on a range of health related subjects relevant to employment as a pharmacy assistant. Work experience is within a retail pharmacy where, as a pharmacy assistant, you can work as part of a team of health professionals in order to help customers achieve the best possible health outcome.
