This one year full-time Apprenticeship Preparatory Programme course provides learners with the foundation required to pursue an apprenticeship in the building trades. It is the ideal starting point to explore the various apprenticeship options available. Students will gain hands-on experience in carpentry, plumbing and electrical installation. provide participants with a hands-on introduction to the broad range of skills required to work in the construction industry. It will also prepare participants for entry to ordinary level degree and honours degree programmes related to the construction industry. 

This Pathways programme takes place with the employer and equips the learner with the vocational skills and knowledge with training and practical experience in the working environment. In addition to further developing the skills and knowledge gained during the off -the -job training elements, the learner will have the skills, knowledge and competency to work independently and under supervision is a range of construction industry contexts and or to progress to further and or higher education and training.  When completed the learner will have gained a broad foundation of knowledge and skills across the different construction disciplines especially those in carpentry, shuttering, blockwork and plastering.
