This Level 6 course enables our Level 5 Computer Programming students to progress and develop their programming skills in C++, Java and Visual Studio 2010. The aim of the  course is toStudents will acquire up-to-date knowledge in the field Computer Science and Software Engineering. Students will gain skills in programming and problem solving. These skills will be developed over one year and allow the candidates to become proficient in many key practical areas of Software Development. You will learn C# using Microsoft's .NET Framework, creating your own computer programs to best practice.

This course will provide training to students on the client-server networked environment incorporating physical, virtual, on premise and cloud technologies. It provides comprehensive coverage of networking topics, from fundamentals to cybersecurity and services, with opportunities for hands-on practical experience and career skills development. The course is closely aligned to the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) professional qualification. 

This is a global qualification recognised by the IT industry. Students who complete the two years will have gained a strong foundation to progress to full CCNA certification.

Students develop specialist skills in coding, mobile technology, and troubleshooting to solve complex technical problems with high attention to detail. Graduates are well-positioned for immediate roles or can apply via the CAO for advanced entry into undergraduate degree programs.

This is a four year Carpentry and Joinery apprenticeship combines practical work with a registered employer and classroom learning, featuring an 11-week training block at DFEi during Phase 4 and a 10-week block during Phase 6. Applications are managed entirely through SOLAS, and the training equips you with the skills to build and install structural wood products like doors, floors, and roofs.

On completion of this four-year apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified carpenter and joiner, with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Carpentry and Joinery.

You will go on to be employed in the construction industry on building sites, in a joinery shop or in maintenance and other areas like renovating buildings, shopfitting, exhibition/display work.

Many craftspersons use their qualification as a platform to launch careers such as managers, owners of businesses and instructors amongst others.

This apprenticeship consists of four on-the-job phases with an approved employer and three off-the-job phases in an educational organisation. Apprentices will be invited to attend their off-the-job training phases in accordance with the SOLAS scheduling system.

In this course, panel wiring and motor control for both domestic and industrial installations. All associated electrical theory will be comprehensively covered. This phase of training includes installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of various wiring systems and services in domestic, commercial and industrial applications. Phase 2 is one component of the full seven‑phase apprenticeship, which includes four on‑the‑job phases with an employer and three off‑the‑job phases in an educational environment..
