The Graphic Design Level 6 course is an advanced program designed for students with prior experience in art and design who wish to elevate their technical and conceptual expertise. The curriculum focuses on refining design thinking, illustration, and typography while introducing modern digital competencies like motion graphics and web development. This course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and the skills to work in a variety of areas within the Animal Health Care sector, or to progress to Higher Education through the Higher Education Links Scheme. Learners will study core areas of Animal Health Care and are enabled to put theory into practice through experiential learning. Regular field trips and the handling of a wide variety of animals are key features of this course.

This course is designed to deepen existing expertise, the course equips students with the advanced technical competencies required for supervisory roles and specialized careers within the animal science sector. Beyond immediate professional advancement, this qualification provides a valuable bridge to higher education, allowing graduates to apply for advanced entry into degree programs at various third-level institutes.

This Advanced Certificate in Animal Science course is the ideal progression for those who have completed a QQI level 5 in Animal Care or who have had previous experience of working in the Animal Care sector. This course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and the skills to work in a variety of areas within the Animal Health Care sector. Learners will study core areas of Animal Health Care enabling them to work with confidence in a variety of Animal Care settings. This is a full-time one-year course and runs from September to May.

The aim of this programme is to provide the learner with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills and competence to work independently and/or in a management or supervisory role within animal related industries.

Animal Science is an advanced course, building on the occupational skills achieved at Level 5. It is a perfect stepup course to lead you to supervisory careers, or onto Higher Education studies.

The course includes practical and theoretical study of the science of animal health and animal behaviour for domestic, farm and wild animals. You will also enhance your animal handling skills through ‘hands-on’ practical assignments, and explore the wider animal industry.

This one year course is designed and is tailor-made to students who wish to progress in the animal area into a working life with animals. This course caters for experience with pet and farm animals. The farm animal aspect of the course is taught in the college but also on-site on a working farm in Dundrum.  Students also complete a one-week placement at an agricultural college in Tipperary to gain large animal farm experience. This is to ensure that students leave with practical hands-on experience with these species and will have the versatility to gain employment in either equine or farm animal businesses. Students gain a much greater understanding of the small animal industry in Ireland, including dog behaviour and advanced grooming. This means that students are ready for employment or equipped to set up their own animal enterprise. 

Graduates will be able to demonstrate a broad understanding of the husbandry and management requirements of a variety of animals used in diverse animal-related businesses. This includes key areas such as animal health, nutrition, housing, behaviour, production, and welfare, as well as core competencies in areas like wildlife care, professional grooming, and laboratory-based diagnostics.

Applicants with a passion for working with animals, a willingness to work hard and a commitment to study. You will be responsible for securing an appropriate off-site work placement before the beginning of the course. This Level 6 course is directed more at employment/setting up your own business.

This course in Animal Science covers all of the aspects of animal science and aims to advance the student's academic and professional career prospects in animal care while also studying units in business and management. Students may use this course in Animal Science as a progression to a degree in related animal management, animal science and care areas. Industry placement is an im­portant part of this course, with placement being completed over the duration of the course. By the end of this course, students will have learned how to maintain a high level of hus­bandry when rearing animals and have a knowledge of a wide range of animals.

The course will provide aspiring technicians with the knowledge and skills required to contribute to the manufacture of components such as Switchgear Systems, Electrical Power Distribution Systems and Air Handling Units.

Learners will gain hands-on experience in the design, assembly and production of these systems. The course prepares learners to work autonomously in the manufacturing of related components in various industrial and commercial applications.

This course would suit individuals with an interest in mechanical systems, plant maintenance, and industrial machinery. It is ideal for those who enjoy problem-solving, working autonomously, and applying technical and practical skills in varied and unfamiliar tasks. It would also benefit those looking to progress their careers in maintenance roles across industries or seeking further qualifications in technical fields.
