The Preparation for Leaving Certificate with ESOL Programme is a Transition Year course which will allow learners to come back to education and prepare for either the Leaving Certificate or a Further Education and Training Course. As such, it’s a starting point for all other courses in Pearse College and beyond.

The program emphasizes the art of storytelling and educational engagement, ensuring you can share the wonders of the universe safely and accurately.

This full-time one-year programme will concentrate on helping students develop a portfolio of work with the aim of progressing into further study in the area of art, craft and/or design. It is useful for anyone interested in working in the creative sector or for those simply wishing to further their practical skills in this area.

This programme provides a solid foundation in general science. The programme aims to provide both the knowledge and practical skills necessary to prepare learners for further studies in areas such as Biomedical, Pharmaceutical, Biological and Forensics as well as Pharmacy Technician programmes.

This full-time one-year programme provides students with an understanding of the digital skills required for a range of industries like web design, software development, games design, programming and digital marketing, among others. Students will also have an option to complete Microsoft Power BI which provides students with an opportunity to be versed in the most up-to-date data visualization software.

This programme will examine the area of criminology, in particular criminal behaviour and criminal law. Criminology will provide a foundational understanding of crime causes, the Irish legal system, and criminal psychology. It will give students the knowledge, skill and competence of the principles and practice underpinning criminal law and the application of criminal law in legal practice.

This programme will be of interest to those wishing to work or pursue further study in Environmental Science. Career areas include waste management, renewable energy, nature conservation, and numerous areas within the environmental sector. The core science modules open up many routes for further study in general science areas as well as other sustainable areas.

This programme offers an introduction to forensic science and its application to criminal law. Students will gain practical skills in the science laboratory as well as gaining knowledge of the criminal law system in Ireland. Progression is possible into chemistry and forensic related courses and these, in turn, link to professions in An Garda Síochána, the Defence Forces and Forensic Science Labs.

This programme is aimed at those who wish to pursue teaching as a career. It will concentrate on skills and knowledge essential to a teacher. It mainly prepares students for entry into Arts Degree programmes for second level teaching.

It will equip students with a good grounding in theories of behaviour and society which they can bring into further study in Arts or Psychology degrees. It is also a good introduction for anyone thinking of switching into this area.
