This course offers learners the opportunity to acquire a QQI level 5 award in General Studies 5M3114 focusing on a broad-based study of liberal arts. The course aims to provide a programme of learning as an access course to Higher Education. Pathways to Apprenticeship Hairdressing will lead to QQI Level 5 Award on the National Qualifications Framework. The overall aim of this is to equip the learner with the vocational skills and knowledge to the world of the Hairdressing Industry/Environment. The learner will be provided with both academic and technical competencies which allows them to progress into the Hairdressing Senior Trades Course, Hairdressing Apprenticeship Programme and/or smooth integration into the workplace.

This programme has been designed to provide the essential practical and theoretical skills to access employment opportunities in the tourism and hospitality industry and in event management organisations.

This course is aimed at learners who love the challenge of problem solving and helping people in practical ways to complete Activities of Daily Living. The specialist programme will guide learners to work as an assistant in an Occupational Therapy Department or as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team. The role provides support to older, injured, ill or disabled patients to enable them to partake in everyday activities.
