This programme has been designed to help enable participants to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to apply crop pesticides using a boom sprayer in accordance's with legislations and recommended safety practices.

This programme has been designed to enable participants to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out risk assessment for chainsaw operations including maintenance and sawing and be able to complete maintenance to the chainsaw. On completion participants will be able to outline the safe operation of a chainsaw during use including interpreting safety decals, safety devices fitted to the chainsaw and cross cutting operations and be capable of completing a number of chainsaw cutting techniques correctly and safety ensuring that the correct storage including cleaning, sharpening and setting is completed.

This programme has been designed to enable participants to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out risk assessment for chainsaw operations including maintenance and sawing and be able to complete maintenance to the chainsaw. This programme has been designed to help enable participants to develop the knowledge, skills and competency necessary to ensure that people involved in the sale and/or distribution of pesticides are appropriately trained to cope with situations that may arise during the pesticide distribution phase.

This programme has be approved and will meet all the requirement set under the National Action plan for the Sustainable Use of Pesticides. On completion of this programme participants will be able to register as a approved distributor and understand all storage, handling, distribution and disposal requirements for pesticides as required under legislation.

This programme has been designed to help enable participants to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out appropriate landscape pre - building tasks, construct hard landscape features and structures, prepare and sow the ground with a variety of landscaping plants and be capable of maintaining soft landscaping features to a high standard.

The aim of this programme is to equip learners with the knowledge, skill and competency to achieve a QQI Level 5 Mechanical Pesticide Application 5N20435. On completion learners will be able to identify legislative requirements in relation to the use of pesticide, demonstrating understanding of the principles of application by being capable of using a range of pesticide applicators including a boom sprayer, slug pellet applicator and a propelled weedlickers safety, using required PPE, setting up and calibrating correctly and completing all relevant required paperwork.

This award educates learners in protecting horticultural plants & crops from the affects of weeds, pests, diseases and disorders and to also select the appropriate control measures. Learners upon completion can competently review the affects, reproduction, spread and control of weeds and apply pesticides with a knapsack sprayer in accordance with recommended safe practice. Participants will have developed these skills ensuring that safe working practices are met when in use of equipment, chemical and other materials meeting all health and safety requirements.
