This full-time QQI Healthcare Support Course is designed to prepare students to work competently, safely and effectively as a Healthcare Assistant in a variety of settings such as nursing homes, hospitals and home help support. This course is unique in that Kinsale College is the only centre offering a fully accredited Dementia Care Module that underpins this course. Kinsale College works in partnership with K-CORD (Kinsale Community Response to Dementia Care) and has links to job opportunities locally. The course has also been highlighted at a National level at a forum on the future of dementia care.

The Level 5 Certificate in Forestry course provides a sound understanding of the fundamental knowledge and the essential skills required for those involved in forestry operations.

The sport horse industry contributes more than €700 million directly/indirectly to the Irish economyeach year, employing close to 12,500 directly and indirectly. Sport horse career opportunities include yard manager, competition rider, groom, breaking and training, coach, sales prep, and self – employed ventures such as equine tourism. In addition there are a number of career opportunities in supporting or service provider roles.

General Information This course involves 25 weeks of college work and skills training and a four week practical learning period (PLP) in a Teagasc approved horticultural unit. In an average week, students will spend three days at the college and two days skills training in Botanic Gardens or Dublin Local Authority Park.
