This high-energy program is designed for water sports enthusiasts who want to turn the ocean into their office. Combining elite physical conditioning with technical skill development, the course guides participants through a dual-qualification pathway to become both a Certified Surf Instructor and an Internationally Qualified Beach Lifeguard. Set against the rugged backdrop of the Wild Atlantic Way, students will master advanced wave-riding techniques, surf safety, and group leadership, alongside rigorous beach rescue protocols and first-aid proficiency. 

This comprehensive training program is specifically engineered to provide learners with globally recognized accreditations from CompTIA and Microsoft. The curriculum is meticulously updated to reflect the evolving tech landscape, focusing on the four critical pillars of modern IT infrastructure: core hardware, operating systems, networking, and cloud computing. Students will master the technical skills required to deploy, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise-level systems while gaining proficiency in cloud-based environments. 

This practical, entry-level program is designed to equip learners with the fundamental technical  curriculum that  focuses on mastering basic welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and Manual Metal Arc (Stick) welding. Students will gain hands-on experience in joining various metals, interpreting technical drawings, and understanding the properties of different materials. 

Applicants must have completed BIM’s Basic Safety Training Course.

The training consists of three elements:

-Personal Survival Techniques (STCW-95 Certificate)
-Elementary First Aid (STCW-95 Certificate)
-Fire Prevention and Safety Awareness (SKL-FRSA)

Fishing Vessel (Basic Safety Training) Regulations, 2001 (S.I. 587 of 2001) require all fishing vessel crew members to undergo Basic Safety Training. This three day programme is run at all of BIM’s training centres and consists of the following:

STCW-PST Personal Survival Techniques
STCW-EFA Elementary First Aid
SKL–FPSA Fire Prevention and Safety Awareness (BIM non-certified course given in addition by BIM)

This course aims to provide the training for candidates to provide STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting in accordance with Section. A-VI/1 of the STCW Code. On successful completion of the course, a trainee will be competent to take appropriate measures for the safety of personnel and of the ship and to use fire appliances correctly. The trainee will also have a knowledge of fire prevention.

This course is mandatory for a learner to complete a Second-Hand Limited or Second-Hand Full Certificate of Competency.

This course aims to provide training for candidates in STCW Advanced Fire Fighting.

Seafarers designated to control fire-fighting operations on board a vessel shall complete advanced training in techniques for fighting fire, with particular emphasis on organisation, tactics and command.

Seafarers are required to demonstrate competence to undertake the tasks, duties and responsibilities listed in table A-VI/3 of the STCW code.
