This course combines both ladies hairdressing and barbering skills providing the learner with an overview of the hairdressing industry. Upon successful completion of this course, students may gain placement as an apprentice in a hairdressing salon.

This course is an introductory year to the three-year apprenticeship programme aimed at school leavers and mature applicants who are considering a career in the Hairdressing Industry.

The programme aims to ensure that theoretical learning in a Further Education Centre to prepare you for our 3 year Apprentice program.

This programme enables learners to obtain a range of practical and theoretical skills en route to attaining the QQI Level 5 Major Award in Hairdressing.

The college offers a QQI Level 5 Hairdressing course which provides students with a comprehensive introduction to the hairdressing profession. The course covers all aspects of the industry, including work experience, and equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to progress into an apprenticeship.

The college is proud to deliver the National Hairdressing Apprenticeship in Hairdressing and works closely with employers and all key stakeholders in the Hairdressing industry.

The overall aim of the programme is to provide the learner with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence in hairdressing theory, practice and skills to work independently and under supervision in a hairdressing environment and/or to progress to further or higher education or training.

This Hairdressing & Beauty Specialist Level 5 Certificate offers both practical and theoretical skills to help you develop the confidence and knowledge necessary to pursue further study in the hair or beauty field. This course is an ideal launchpad for students wishing to embark on a career in Hairdressing or Beauty

This course is designed to facilitate those wishing to pursue a career in hairdressing which involves on and off the job intensive salon training. It provides students with a broad range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge required for the hairdressing industry. Training is provided in our fully equipped modern salon.

The course includes practical and theory modules and gives learners a chance to experience the day-to-day procedures related to working in a hairdressing salon through Open Salon days in college.

Through a combination of practical observation and assessment, you will study and practice all areas of hairdressing including: consulting, hair and scalp analysis, blow-drying and setting, cutting and chemical services. There will be an emphasis on practical work experience in approved hairdressing salons, where learners will have contact with clients and potential employers. You will be required to purchase a uniform and professional work kit.

This Course aims to prepare students for employment in the Hairdressing Industry. Students will be given training and confidence to secure an Apprenticeship in a Hairdressing Salon. Emphasis is put on all key areas of Hairdressing which will enhance student's techniques, creative and inter-personal skills. All practical training takes place in fully equipped Hair Salon.

This one-year full-time Hairdressing and Barbering course is an intensive, hands-on programme that leads to recognised qualifications in hairdressing and barbering related skills. Students interested in progressing to a second year where they gain higher qualifications in Senior Trades and a City & Guilds Diploma in Ladies Hair Dressing are selected on a competitive basis. Training is provided in the fully equipped college hairdressing salon. Work experience offers students the opportunity to further develop their skills in selected and approved hairdressing salons.

This intensive one-year program serves as an ideal entry point for a career in the hairdressing industry, providing a strong foundation for those progressing to the National Hairdressing Apprenticeship. Students develop a blend of technical expertise, creative flair, and essential customer communication skills required to excel in a professional salon environment. Aimed at both school leavers and mature learners, the course demands high levels of commitment and enthusiasm, covering all key aspects of hair care to ensure graduates are salon-ready and industry-competent.

This course is designed as a transition year to studying at third level to maximise your potential for success. It provides the fundamental knowledge and skills required for success in a broad based Arts/Social Science programme. It also offers the mature learner who has an interest in understanding the political environment, an opportunity to explore and evaluate issues in a dynamically changing European social context.

This one year course, similar to our other arts programme, aims to prepare participants for entrance into Arts programmes in Irish universities and colleges. The Liberal arts option attributes more of a focus on The Arts, English Literature and European languages.  It will aim to prepare participants for entrance into Arts programmes in Irish universities and colleges as well as preparing students to work in a European environment both in Ireland and abroad. Students will have the option of taking a language, Irish or Spanish, along with European Studies or can focus on a more English Literature based course, which will lead to a general studies option.

The course provides a foundation for progression to Higher Education study in general Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
