Delivered over 3 years the BSc Industrial Laboratory Science (NFQ Level 7) is designed to enable Level 5 students wishing to develop a career in industrial laboratory sciences entry to the field. The BSc (Hons) in Sustainable Engineering Technologies is delivered over four years in four stages of 60 credits each. Each stage includes taught modules worth either 5 or 10 credits depending on their learning outcomes. In first year, all modules are mandatory.

In second year, students pick a stream, either Manufacturing Industry offered in ATU Galway City or ATU Sligo, or Computing offered in ATU Donegal. 15 credits are mandatory and 45 stream specific. In third year, 20 credits are mandatory and 40 stream specific. In fourth year, 15 credits are mandatory and 45 stream specific. Work placement is mandatory for all students in Year 3 and all students complete a major project in year 4. As student progress through the programme, the complexity of the systems they are studying increases.

This is a unique access route into BSc Hons in General Nursing with Atlantic Technological University across three ETB campuses in the West, North West region aimed at widening participation to communities and individuals who would not traditionally consider third-level education as option.

The 2-year Level 6 Sales Apprenticeship programme is an “earn and learn” model, designed to empower the apprentice with underpinning knowledge, skills and competencies required to excel as a sales employee.

This Traineeship is aimed at practitioners in the traditional performing arts who have a product at an advanced stage of development. Candidates should be able to demonstrate evidence of experience and relevant skills in relation to their product and an understanding of the traditional arts sector.

The aim of this Traineeship is to enable trainees to acquire the skills, knowledge, and support to develop a product, such as a musical act, show, prototype musical instrument or online platform and to successfully bring the product to market. The programme aims to enable the learner through practical experience to integrate the theoretical and practical aspects of product development through working with industry professionals in the traditional arts sector.

This course will give you the opportunity to gain work placement with major media companies in Ireland and train in technical media production skills. It is a fully funded training programme which includes software, equipment, guest speakers, industry certification and excursions. Work and Train with likeminded media professionals in an exciting environment while gaining the skills to enable you to work in the TV & Film industry.

Applicants who are currently in receipt of a Social Welfare payment may continue to receive that payment for the duration of the course.

This course aims to provide the training for candidates to provide STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting in accordance with Section. A-VI/1 of the STCW Code. On successful completion of the course, a trainee will be competent to take appropriate measures for the safety of personnel and of the ship and to use fire appliances correctly. The trainee will also have a knowledge of fire prevention.

This course is mandatory for a learner to complete a Second-Hand Limited or Second-Hand Full Certificate of Competency.

This course aims to provide training for candidates in STCW Advanced Fire Fighting.

Seafarers designated to control fire-fighting operations on board a vessel shall complete advanced training in techniques for fighting fire, with particular emphasis on organisation, tactics and command.

Seafarers are required to demonstrate competence to undertake the tasks, duties and responsibilities listed in table A-VI/3 of the STCW code.

The Hairdressing Apprenticeship is a 3-year, work-based learning programme which leads to a level 6 Major Award on the National Framework of Qualifications. Apprentices will spend 80% on the job training with the employer and 20% at a training college. The programme aims to ensure that theoretical learning in an education or training institution is reinforced by the practical experience of undertaking a real job and equips the participant to absorb workplace culture and business processes, whilst honing employability skills. The programme is designed to provide the Hairdressing Apprentice with the knowledge, skills and competencies to become a skilled and confident hairdresser.

Hairdressers will be qualified to work autonomously in a competent, professional and independent capacity, with the ability to use the knowledge, skills and competencies required in their professional practice. They will demonstrate an extensive range of skills and services; from styling, colouring and cutting hair to performing scalp treatments.
