This ten-week intermediate course advances the skills established in Screen Acting - Level 1, focusing on refined performance techniques for film and television. Participants experience the environment of a premier theatre academy while honing their skills under the guidance of The Lir Academy’s core tutors. It is ideal for young performers eager to gain a head start in their craft within a supportive, conservatory-style setting.

The course is designed for young actors aged 13-15 who have a passionate interest in performing and would like to have an early start in acting training. Participants will get a taste of the environment of a theatre academy and hone their skills under the supervision of core Lir Academy tutors. The programme introduces young performers to the key components of actor training such as: Acting & Improvisation, Voice & Speech and Movement & Physical Theatre in a supportive, fun and educational environment.

This course is an excellent first step for young actors who are passionate about being on stage and want to work towards a career in theatre and drama.

Anthropology is the study of human diversity around the world. In studying anthropology, you will learn how different societies live together and think about such topics as family, religion, art, politics and economics and gain skills increasingly in demand in a globalized and automated world.

The programme provides students with the professional Community Youth Work qualification, which is a JNC endorsed qualification, recognised by NSETS, (North South Education and Training Standards committee). This professional qualification is recognised by employers throughout the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. This course equips youth workers with a wide range of skills, values and knowledge to work in professional settings with many agencies that work with young people.

The BSc Honours Degree in Social Work is a professional qualification that meets the requirements of the Northern Ireland Social Care Council. Training to become a social worker involves a mixture of academic study and professional practice learning opportunities for a total of 185 days during the Degree. During Practice Placements (two episodes of 85 days and 100 days) students will work full time alongside social work practitioners and supported and assessed by a Practice Teacher. A range of placement opportunities are provided by a wide range of agency partners from Health and Social Care Trusts and other voluntary and statutory agencies and these providers are integral to the development and delivery of the programme.

The design and delivery of this ‘fast track’ degree programme is premised on the relevant graduate qualities of the applicant in meeting the demands of this accelerated learning programme.
