This course is designed to introduce the learner to the fundamentals of installation, configuration and maintenance of computer systems and basic networks. It also facilitates progression in education including further and higher, education or training.

This course facilitates the learner to explore Food Science and the principles of food processing with a view to gaining employment or progressing to further education or training.

This course is often used by learners as a prepatory course for progression to third level.

This programme introduces students to the topical and developing area of nutrition and dietetics. By combining theory and practice (students will be required to attend a Work Placement during the programme) it is aimed to give students broad based, relevant knowledge in this vast area of study.

This programme aims to equip students with sufficient skills to allow them gain access to workshop training programmes/third level programmes.

It will also allow students the opportunity to prepare a portfolio of work. Students on this course may also have completed an Art and Sculpture (Foundation) course.

Whitehall College of Further Education has a long history of delivering this course.  This programme was designed in conjunction with Medical experts from our Vios Health partners.  It is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to successfully gain employment in medical administrative settings.

Learners work towards the QQI Level 5 Health Service Skills major award while also developing their English language skills. If you are over 21 and 6 months unemployed you may be eligible for VTOS (Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme). This scheme gives unemployed adults over 21 the opportunity of returning to full time education, while retaining their benefit.

The course includes a variety of classroom-based subjects, clinical practical skills, mandatory work placement and independent study. Assessments and assignments are continuous throughout the year. Academic learning consists of a combination of onsite and self-directed learning.

This is a one year specialist course training students to work as Special Needs Assistants (SNAs) in Pre school, Primary and Secondary School Classrooms. Primary and Secondary Schools as well as specialist schools employ Special Needs Assistants to work in a variety of educational settings.

Applicants should have a love of children and gain pleasure in helping others. If you have a vocation to assist pre school,primary or secondary students and enjoy school life, this course is very fulfilling. You should be mature, hardworking and organised. You will be responsible for securing an appropriate off site work placement.

You will have a mixture of classroom-based subjects, laboratory practicals, mandatory work placement and independent study. You will be expected to complete assignments throughout the year (Continuous Assessment). This course includes an extensive e-Learning programme designed to teach students networking skills.
