This practical journalism course focuses on developing multimedia skills to prepare students to work across all platforms: social, mobile, broadcast, digital and print journalism.

You will be trained to become a skilled digital content creator who can demonstrate essential skills and use of new technologies for the fast-moving 21st century media workplace. These includes smartphone photography and video journalism and the use of Adobe CC software for digital page production, social media campaigns and digital editing (sound and video).

This program is designed for aspiring sound engineers, music producers, and promotion specialists seeking a comprehensive foundation in the digital music industry. Combining theoretical knowledge with rigorous practical training, students master the technical nuances of sound engineering while gaining vital industry insights from a faculty of professional engineers and practitioners. A core element of the learning experience is the direct collaboration with Music Performance students to produce annual live events, allowing learners to apply their skills in high-pressure, real-world environments.

This one-year course concentrates on developing students knowledge and practical skills in the art of cinematography and provides an opportunity to work with experienced teachers to kick-start a career in filmmaking and learn valuable skills needed to enter into the film industry.

Students will acquire practical skills in film camera operations with an emphasis placed on the roles and functions of the camera. These skills will be evidenced through practical projects using high end SONY digital cameras. The productions will ensure the acquisition of other important cinematography skills including lighting, digital editing, and scriptwriting. Students will also learn the art of traditional darkroom black and white portrait photography.

Stream 1 focuses on performance and musicianship, allowing instrumentalists and singers to deepen their understanding of the Irish tradition while mastering music technology. A highlight of the second year is the opportunity for students to record and produce their own CD using professional college facilities. Stream 2 is a dedicated Traineeship in Instrument Making, Repair, and Maintenance, delivered in conjunction with Na Piobairí Uilleann. This one-year introductory course to illustration techniques and practices will enable you to develop your artistic skills and to begin the process of becoming proficient in illustration. It is also designed for those who have an interest in many aspects of art and who want to develop their appreciation of art, craft, and design.

This two-year Level 8 honours degree, awarded by the University of Dundee, is a top-up program designed to integrate advanced technical, creative, and academic skills. Operating in a high-spec studio environment equipped with Unreal Engine, Unity, Maya, and a dedicated XR mo-cap lab, students engage in self-directed learning focused on iterative prototyping and asset creation. This course provides students the opportunity to explore and further musicianship and performance skills. Students will explore the structure of the music industry in addition to gaining practical skills in recording and producing music as a modern production environment. This highly practical course is aimed at producing graduates who will have the core practical skills and experience to work across all areas of television and video production including directing, producing, camera work, sound editing, postproduction, live studio and outside broadcast recording.
