This course will help learners develop key transferable skills such as critical thinking and creative problem solving through a focus on design as a fundamental process.

In addition, this course will allow learners to explore new materials, technologies and methods of product realisation through the use of 3D modelling, printing and assembly.

The Preparation for Leaving Certificate with ESOL Programme is a Transition Year course which will allow learners to come back to education and prepare for either the Leaving Certificate or a Further Education and Training Course. As such, it’s a starting point for all other courses in Pearse College and beyond.

QQI Level 4 Component Certificates in General Learning.

This is a QQI level 4 course and is also available to VTOS applicants if eligible. It provides students with a general all-round knowledge in key aspects of horticulture. Students are offered a good balance of practical and theory-based skills including: growing vegetables, horticultural practice, plant care and identification. This course will enable you to gain an understanding of the fundamentals of horticulture with real hands-on experience.

The aim of this 1 year full-time programme is to provide learners with a comprehensive introduction to all aspects of the modern fashion trade. There is a strong focus throughout the course on applying knowledge and skills practically to produce real results in both textile and garment construction including aspects of sustainable fashion. Work placement gives our learners an opportunity to enhance their career prospects within the Fashion Industry.

A Fashion portfolio which demonstrates the learner’s ability to deliver creative and original responses is prepared including digital illustration and image manipulator with Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator.

This course provides learners with the opportunity to train for a career in Multimedia Design, Digital Video and Animation. Multimedia is the electronic manipulation of text, video, sound and imagery. This course specifically gives learners an opportunity to create characters and environment for a short animation video/film developed from scratch. Emphasis will be on drawing and design skills. It also enables learners to develop their creativity. Learners learn how to use technology to develop and plan their ideas from drawings.
