A three-year Level 8 honours degree for those interested in developing a career in film, documentary, television and the audiovisual sector. This programme is designed to provide a specialised knowledge of the history, theory and practical working of documentary and film making. Embedded in the programme is the opportunity for ethical and philosophical discourse with regard to representation, media and new technologies.

The practical and technical skills options include such specialist areas as screenwriting, editing, sound, production design, cinematography, VFX (visual effects) and knowledge of the planning, budgeting and management requirements involved in shooting and delivering film and documentary projects.

Civil engineering is all about creating, improving and protecting the environment in which we live. It involves the planning, design and construction of facilities that we require everyday living, industry and transport.

Civil engineering also aims to solve environmental issues such as air pollution, coastal protection and waste treatment. As a civil engineer, you will have a creative, diverse and challenging career and will be making a real contribution to the needs of both modern and developing societies all over the world.

Energy Engineering is a broad field dealing with energy efficiency, energy product design and services, facility management, plant engineering, environmental compliance, and alternative energy technologies.The main job of an Energy Engineer is to find the most efficient and sustainable way to power our homes, businesses and industrial processes. This discipline is one of the most recent to emerge, driven by exciting new opportunities: to generate, distribute and store energy. To deliver energy efficiency using smart devices and to monitor energy use, and energy services.

Graduates with Finance, Economics and Big Data skills are in high demand here in Ireland and overseas. This also opens up opportunities in a range of business careers including financial planning, banking, accounting, economics and management consulting. Postgraduate options include economics and finance. A highlight of the programme is the opportunity to undertake a three-to-six-month work experience placement as part of third year. Students can alternatively choose to study abroad on Erasmus.

The aim of the BB (Hons) in Rural Enterprise and Agri-Business is to provide the learner with a business education that emphasises the importance of rural enterprise and agri business by developing an understanding of the theory, concepts and methods as well as the practical implementation of a range of skills and tools in these areas.

The programme prepares graduates to work in the growing areas of sport performance and health-related exercise science.
On this course, you will learn how to apply scientific principles in order to understand and enhance sport and exercise performance, health and well-being. The BA in Design (Common Entry) course is the first year of a three year (Level 7) course. This degree provides experiences, insights and knowledge into early childhood education and care. Early childhood educators work with children from infancy to primary school. Our programme aims to develop well-informed, articulate professionals who are passionate about early childhood education and care. This four-year, level 8 programme (including a placement) offers a direct pathway into a full-time career in accounting, decision making, systems accounting, digital auditing, process design, business and data analytics, blockchain, system analysis programme development and application support. Digital Accounting will develop accounting graduates with traditional accounting competencies combined with applied digital technology skills, to ensure graduates have the required skill set to operate in the current and future business environment. 

The three-year BA (Hons) in Animation and Games Design is aimed at those who wish to secure employment in the Games and/or Animation industry, and those who wish to design and produce their own animated films or video games. The Animation and Game Design programme has been delivered since 2016 as a major pathway on the BA (Hons) in Design. It has been very successful, with excellent feedback from the students, graduates and industry.
