This is a second year fashion programme offered to students who complete QQI Level 5 Fashion Design. It allows the learner to advance their design, technical and creative skills. It gives the learner a stronger understanding of the fashion industry and provides them with the skills to succeed in the world of fashion. QQI Level 6 fashion has a greater emphasis on sewing and pattern making to facilitate learners who wish to establish their own business or label.

The course provides students with a solid foundation in nursing theory and practice and allows students to assess their suitability for a career in nursing. Students achieving the required grades during this course can apply to gain entry to nursing degree courses.

Applications are also invited from mature students wishing to pursue a career in nursing.

This one year course is designed to provide an excellent foundation for students wishing to advance to business degree programmes in third level Institutes of Technology or Universities. Modules such as Accounting, Economics, Mathematics and Business Administration are core to this course and will give students who gain a place on a degree programme a distinct advantage.

The 2-year Level 6 Sales Apprenticeship programme is an “earn and learn” model, designed to empower the apprentice with underpinning knowledge, skills and competencies required to excel as a sales employee.

This course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to work effectively with dogs, as pet owners, professional dog trainers, or as canine performance enthusiasts. Whether learners wish to progress their career in dog handling, aspire to compete in canine events, or wish to better understand and train their own dogs, this course will provide a platform to do so while promoting responsible and compassionate dog ownership and handling.

This two year course leads to a Pharmacy Technician Qualification. The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in the preparation, checking, storage and dispensing of drugs.

This course offers a unique blend of audio and visual elements offering students practical hands on experience with industry standard equipment and tools to produce a portfolio of work to showcase their skills which can be used to apply for roles within the ever-growing multimedia industry and for progression to higher education.

Advanced Beauty Therapy Level 6 offers students relevant qualifications in a progressing industry. Students will achieve ITEC Diplomas in various disciplines, CIDESCO as well as the internationally recognised qualifications. Students who are interested in post graduate qualifications and CPD may also apply.

This course is aimed at learners who wish to gain a qualification in the Tourism industry. In addition to the QQI Award, this course offers practical Industry based Qualifications in Amadeus software certified by The International Academy of Travel. Learners undertake a wide range of site visits and tours during the year. The Course offers a wide variety of modules and students have a range of potential career and further study options after successful completion of the course.

Students on this course have the opportunity based on successful interviews to take part in Erasmus link programme and gain valuable work experience and crucial life skills in a foreign country for three weeks during the academic year.

This course combines a wide range of modules including Tourism Policy and practice, Enterprise, Event Management and Business Management Skills. It meets the increasing demand from employers for qualified workers who are proficient in a wide range of business skills.  Throughout the year students are involved in Entrepreneurial Activity, Market Research, events linked to the tourism industry.

Students will also have the opportunity to engage in the Erasmus+ Programme and travel abroad.

This course introduces the learner to the role of the nurse and midwife and provides an understanding of the knowledge and skills required to pursue a career in the nursing/midwifery profession. Practical elements and work experience enable the learner to gain hands on experience and a real insight into the caring profession.

This award provides a link to Nursing / Midwifery Degree programmes in Ireland and the United Kingdom through the CAO and UCAS systems.

This course is designed to provide a foundation in programming and software development. As well as learning the technical skills needed to write software, computational methods and problem solving will be a key component of this course.

On successful completion students wishing to acquire a higher level of professional software development skills can avail of progression routes onto our Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Software Development or alternatively may apply via the CAO onto an undergraduate degree programme in a range of third level institutions. Assessment will be through continuous assessment and examinations.

This course is modular with continuous assessment over the two years. Students will develop medical knowledge to recognise common illnesses and communication skills to liase with pharmacists and council patients on healthcare issues.

Students will gain experience in dispensing procedures and practices and be able to interpret prescriptions and prepare medicines for dispensing. They will be able to maintain patient records and operate pharmacy computer systems. They will also be able to supply non-prescription medicines in accordance with legislation and guidelines.

This course is suitable for students who are considering a career as an occupational therapy assistant (OT). The course will focus on developing an understanding of impaired mobility and its impact on human occupational performance and ability and the role of occupational therapy in current healthcare services. Students will obtain work experience in homes for the elderly, disability schools/homes, rehabilitation centres and respite care centres for a two-week period.

Students will develop an awareness of how to assist the OT in the implementation of therapeutic programmes. During their work placement, students will develop an understanding of how to plan for and engage the client in self-care activities and examine the components of the OT process, from assessment through treatment planning and implementation to treatment closing.

The study of Psychology builds our understanding of ourselves and others, and develops our capacity to support those in our communities who are marginalised, disadvantaged or face other life challenges.

This advanced course explores social issues of marginalisation such as disability, mental health and addiction. You will gain an understanding of the government and charitable services in our communities and the psychological interventions that support wellbeing and rehabilitation.

The focus of this course is developing the student’s self-awareness and interpersonal skills as well as practical skills around working with social systems and team dynamics in community workspaces.
