Forestry

Forestry is not just about growing trees - it is the art, science, and practice of managing woodland, forests and plantations. The sector employs people to not only  grow the forests but to also look after and manage them.

The forest industry comprising, growing, harvesting and processing of forest products makes a significant and growing contribution to the Irish economy.

From propagators and horticulturalists, to forestry workers and managers, to haulage workers, log buyers, and sawmill managers, there is a wide range of occupations associated with the forestry sector.
