The physical sciences concern the study of the inorganic world, in contrast to the Life Sciences which study the organic world, they include Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy and the Earth sciences.

Physics is the study of matter and energy and how they interact with each other. As a physicist you will be exploring fundamental questions about the universe through observation and experimentation.

Many physicists work in academia, researching and educating, but most will work in industries with demands for the knowledge and skills of physicists. Often they will be applying these skills in an interdisciplinary fashion, not strictly working on physics but instead working in areas such as engineering, computer programming or laboratories where their highly developed logical thinking and mathematical ability is prized.
